This is one of the exciting parts: time to pick your theme. The sky is the limit here, although do make sure that you're not infringing on copyright (go with Magic rather than Harry Potter, for example). As with everything you do, be sure to engage your girls in choosing this theme. Have them discuss, brainstorm, vote... Whatever works for you!

Your theme is a great time to link what you're doing to some program work and I bet you can do this without the girls even knowing, if that's how you roll!

Technology can help with the process of getting girls involved in choosing a theme. It is not always easy to come up with one off the top of your head so tools like mind mapping can be beneficial. The group could start by proposing a few theme ideas and branching off into objectives and activities.

It is also important to consider any hidden curriculum in the camp. What are you teaching that may be unintentional? Could girls who have less access to technology implicitly be learning that they are worse students or lower-class members of your group? Could girls who have a lower tolerance for online activities be learning that they are less intelligent or capable? It is key to watch your language and think about what is being taught beneath the surface.
